A few years back my mother-in-law offered me one of her floor lamps… I think they were prepping for a garage sale and she gave me 1st dibs. We had just moved here and with double our square footage, I was hungry for more lighting. I wish I had a before pic… but this was pre-blogging days, before I chronicled my every thought and project.
It looked very similar to this though…
Except the center of the stand was a creamy white. I’m not a
brass-fan girl, so I painted away that brass. I put a coat of cheap flat black spray paint (under $1 at Lowes and Wal-Mart) and then my FAV color… Oil Rubbed Bronzed, aka ORB.
Today she resides in our family room and I love her. Just another example of how if you like the shape (bones) of an item, you will probably LOVE it if you just paint it!
Don’t you love the hint of shimmer in ORB?
How did you guys like the new linky from last week? Do you like seeing the pics?
I’m going to use it again this week.
Remember this is a PAINT party, so PLEASE linkup only PAINT related projects.
Let’s PARTY PAINTERS!
