I thought I’d show off a few of the items I’ve collected at garage sales. These are all great examples of how paint can really change something that’s tacky, gaudy or flat out ugly to something that you would want to put in your home.
Check out this odd item…
I think it use to be a bed post?
I painted them black and put them by the front door. They remind me of chess pieces now.
Check out this shiny shelf… wow… you need some sunglasses on!
Now hanging in it’s glorified painted state…
So what have you done with paint???
If you haven’t already please place my Power of Paint Party button on your post so everyone can link back here for the party fun.
Remember to put your post link and then a short description of your project in the MckLinky form.

Love those 2 ideas!
I love accents in black. These two ideas turned out really nice.:)
Hope you don't mind that I'm posting an old project, lately I've just been stripping wallpaper… I will have an awesome project for future Paint Parties!
I love your black do dads. Not sure what to call them but they are so neat. Thanks for hosting the Power of Paint. I love it. So many good ideas. Pat, junkblossoms.
I love what you did to the garage finds. I have a question? I'm reluctant to buy anything wooden (antiques, yard sale etc) because I understand the wood may be carring unwanted pests such as termites, bedbugs or flees. Have you heard of this? If so, any advice as to how to spot comtaminated wood products?
Thank you so much for hosting this! You blog is INCREDIBLE! So beautiful with so many ideas! I am working on a project right now. A face lift for a little couch that a friend gave me. Just one of those fold up fabric ones for kids, but this one has a plastic frame. So I am painting it and sewing a slip cover for the cushion. We'll see how it turns out. Paint transforms the most simple things!
I just found your blog, but I'm totally going to join your party next week. Way cool!
I am hosting my first linky party and would be thrilled if you joined.
Way to have vision – they really do look like chess pieces
