My Mistreatment

I love fabric!  Paint and fabric are 2 things I ADORE.  There are many reasons to love them, but here are my top 2… there are so many choices… and you can easily change them and they instantly make a space change.

I want to share with you one of my favorite fabric projects I’ve done.

This curtain panel is a mistreatment.  In case you don’t know about mistreatments…. please, let me share with you.  This term was coined by  decorator extraordinaire, The NesterThe Nesting Place was the first decorating blog I started to follow.  I found her blog when I was searching for curtain ideas.

She is the queen of making your own curtains & making them SO easily.

Items Needed:

Fabric

Glue Gun

Trim

Curtain Clips

I used a faux velvet material for the base of the curtain and upholstery fabric for the top.   I love how the heaviness of the upholstery fabric makes them hang.

You cut your fabric the length you want.  I wanted to pucker the top of the fabric.  I did this by folding the fabric under & then clipping it.

I hot glued the faux velvet fabric onto my upholstery fabric.

Then I hot glued the trim on top of where the 2 fabrics met.

I finished off my edges by just folding and hot gluing it down.

SUPER quick, SUPER easy with SUPER results!!!

Parties I’m joining:

BNOTP’s Met Monday, It’s So Very Cheri, Made It 4 Monday, Just Something I Whipped Up, Making the World Cuter and DIY Day with Kimba.

Lovely! Looks like you did the "pouf" at the top. I did that one too, but with drop cloths. I don't know what I did before Nester's mistreatments. ;) Good job! I'm visiting from Kimba's party. :)

Love them, they are so pretty! Do you know how the hot glue will hold up in the washer? Something I've always wondered…

I used to sew all the time, but now just can't bring myself to even thread the dang needle. Thanks for this post!
