26th Power of Paint Party & Samples

Today is “Blondie’s” Birthday…

Happy Birthday “Blondie!”

She turned 8 today… where did the time go?

She is such a joy… she loves people and has a wonderful gift of making everyone feel included.  She loves helping me with projects… it’s so fun to have a project partner.  Today the family hit the free Regal movies in the morning, beach in the afternoon and dinner at Ruby’s Diner at the end of the Huntington Beach pier with the grandparents.  A fun filled birthday!

OK… onto the topic of paint!

I got my free Glidden paint samples last week.  I picked 2 blues.  One of my goals this year is to finish off our master bedroom, which includes painting (it’s boring white at the moment).

So this last weekend I painted a swatch of my 2 free Glidden paints and Martha Stewart’s Waterfall on our bedroom wall.

What do you think?

I’m not sure if I’m LOVIN’ any of them… hum?  I do like one more than the others though.

Do you have a blue you LOVE for a master bedroom?

Do tell???

So what have you been painting?

Power of Paint Party Rules:

***This is a PAINT party… so pretty please, link-up only paint related projects.  I HATE deleting!

***Please put my nifty POPP button in your blog post or a link back to this party in your post… that way others from your blog can check out all the paint projects too.

***In the URL line, insert your blog post url… not your general blog address.

OOoh I like the very far left one the best. Although it might come across a little differently through the picture? Which one is your fave, Maryann?

Happy, happy birthday to little Blondie! It sounds like you all had a very special day together. That's wonderful : ).

    Many blessings to you, friend!
    Love, Laura

I like country mist by Behr. We had it in our last house and it was wonderful. We were going to do it again in this house, until I found some Robert Allen fabric that trumped the blue. :)

Happy Birthday to your little-big girl! My son is just about 4 months and I already feel like if I blink I'm gonna miss it all. I like the paint swatch on the far left, but I'm partial to blue greys in the bedroom. I have a grey bedroom in my current townhouse and loved it so much that in the house we're building I chose grey again for the master bedroom:) Can't wait to see what you decide!

ps- I'm new to blogging and so I have never participated in a link party before. I actually have a post from earlier this month that I did about paint (a before and after of our living room), can I submit that or does it have to be a new post? I'm not sure if I can edit my post (since it's already published) to include the link to your party. If you have time to answer, that would be great, if not, no prob! I'm sure I'll figure this out eventually:)

Ann Marie @ Twice Lovely says:

I agree on the far left one. It's a little softer and more muted than the other 2, which seems relaxing for a bedroom. :) My little boy just turned 8 as well. I can't believe it!! It honestly flies by in a blink.

If I had to pick one of then it would be the one on the far left. I've been working on my master bedroom too! I had a hard time finding the right mix of grey and blue. I finally went with Benjamin Moore "tranquility tweaked". Saw it on Centsational Girl's Blog titled "Adventures in Wainscoting. I was able to get the formula, tried it at home on my walls and loved it! Good luck with your decision!

I like the blue on the left. It is a pretty, peaceful, calming blue … perfect for a master.

Congratulations on your daughter's birthday. I have an 8 year old too… and I agree, where does the time go. Enjoy!

Just thought of Psalm 139:16. I'm sure you know it, but just came to mind for you and Blondie today. Be blessed!

    Cottage In The Sun says:

We have a color similar to the one on the left in our master bedroom. It is a Behr paint, but I can't remember the name, something along the lines of faded jeans. It looks grey in some lights and bluer in others. I really like it and I don't really like blue!

    Amy says:

Just painted our bedroom "Sunken Pool" by Martha Stewart. Really like it, but it's going to take a lot of neutrals to keep it from becoming too overwhelming.

    Maryann @ Domestically-Speaking says:

Thanks everyone for the suggestions… my fav is the one on the left too. That is Waterfall by Martha. I'm going get a few more samples from your wonderful suggestions to add to my wall… Thanks!

I'm a fan of greyer blues, so the one on the left appeals to me more. I can't wait to see the final result :) Thanks for hosting POPP.

    jen @ {decor junkie} says:

I like the two end ones best. I think the first one (the one on the left) is a great color for a bedroom – very calming and soothing. I love Pewtwer Gray…I can't remember who it's by, if you want, I can find out — but it's a very subtle bluish-gray. I think it would work great in a bedroom. I like the one on the far right for a more bright "fun" room — like maybe a bathroom or a laundry room — I tend to go more bold in those areas! I can't wait to see what you pick!

P.s. This is my first linky party for decor junkie! how fun!

    Happy Birthday, Blondie!!

I'm just now getting mine interested in "projects". As she was working on one the other night, she told me how much fun it was. So exciting.

Cassie @ Primitive & Proper says:

i love the blue all the way to the left. i think the others are a little too vibrant fro a bedroom. a color i love by sherwin williams is sleepy blue. is kind of a soft grayish hued blue, and just melts into the background rather than saying, "hey look at me- i am a blue room!!"

    Nancy says:

Maryann, our large with tall ceiling bedroom was painted a lighter shade of the one on the right. It took a bit, but I loved it and wished I had used it here. HOWEVER! I like the one on the right best!!!

Moving to South Bay, CA from Vermont very soon. Anyone who sees this, send me tips!!! :-)

My Mom did her bedroom walls in grey, then had blue bedding, and honestly the walls look blue. Maybe you could go that route.
