For the Love of… Pergolas

Don’t you just love a beautiful outdoor room?

There is just something that happens to a patio

when it’s covered with a pergola… instant room!

Wouldn’t this be a lovely place for dinner?

Garden Room

Love the trees entwined….

pergola with climbing perennial vines surround a brick patio with benches and fountain

A rustic space…

Outdoor Dining Pergola, We added a 12x18 pergola covered patio off of our indoor dining room so we can enjoy the garden while eating! The second pergola is down in the garden away from the house. I just posted pics of that one too!, Patios & Decks Design

Just gorgeous at night… love the drapes and chandelier

Peaceful and serene space with natural privacy, This space has been enhanced with the addition of Silver Lace Vine which was planted last spring and grows up to 30' per year. This picture was taken one year after planting, Private space - planted silver lace vine and clematis. , Patios & Decks Design

White column make this a classic beauty!

So here is where we are…ok, we’ve gotten a little further than this…

Last Saturday, Hubby and Dad dug eight 30” holes (not a fun job).

On Monday we start to put in the posts.  Making sure they were level and spaced properly took awhile.

We got 6 posts in and 4 filled with concrete.

Only the dark post are staying.  The others we used as supports to keep everything in place as the concrete dried.

The posts are 10 feet apart.  The pergola will be 12×12 feet in total size (the top beams with be 12 feet).  We will have a pergola on the left side and on the right side.  Between the 2 pergolas we are hanging a square sail shade.

We’re “hoping” to have it finished by Father’s Day!

I am, I admit a bit envious. :) I'm wondering where I could find the space for one of these at our home. Can't wait to see the finished project as I know you will trick it out with style.

Thank you for wanting to feature my chair wall art this week. I am blushing here. :)
