50th Power of Paint Party

Welcome Paint Lovers…

Did you hear the announcement last week from Pantone?

They announced their prediction for the 2011 color of the year…

Pantone Color of the Year 2011: Honeysuckle

A Color for All Seasons
Courageous. Confident. Vital. A brave new color, for a brave new world. Let the bold spirit of Honeysuckle infuse you, lift you and carry you through the year. It’s a color for every day – with nothing “everyday” about it.”

Last year they predicted turquoise as the 2010 color of the year… they definitely got that one right!

So what do you think?  Can you see this color being used as much?  I know if I put that color in our family room (even as an accent color) that the men-folk in our house would be giving me strange looks.

So do you think Honeysuckle will be the “IT” color?

If you have a paint project involving spray paint make sure you enter it in the DIY CLUB Spray Paint contest… now through December 31st.  The winner will receive 6 cans of Krylon spray paint.

So what have you been painting?

thanks for hosting maryann! i am not sure how i feel about the color of the year… it's fun for me to have it in emmy's room, but i really can't see myself using it anywhere else in my house.

I don't know about the pink thing although I love it but it is restricting like to a girls bedroom. Or maybe it will take off like that phase of men wearing pink shirts. Sorry but pink is meant for us girls!

  3. Love the colour. I used this colour to make my headboard. I think pops of pink in any room in gorgeous although I don't use it much.
You can see it here http://junkinjunky.blogspot.com/2010/01/bedroom-makeover.html, but it has changed since then :)

  4. I love pink. One wall in our master bedroom is pink(light) and also in my kitchen. My husband does not mind my pastel decorating at all. My Christmas decorating is pink and aqua. Soo maybe this color will take off-probably as an accent color. It's pretty bright!

  5. Hi Maryann,

First off, feel free to delete my How To Repair Veneer post if it's not painty enough for this party.

My guys are okay with the turquoise, but there's no way they'd like the pink. I love pink and have tried to incorporate it as accents, but it just doesn't fit our family.

However, I truly love the shade you showed.

Hmmmm… Pink, that's a stretch. The turquoise was on the nose but I have my reservations on the Honeysuckle. I live in a house full of boys so I'm not a very good judge. I would definitely get funny looks, too :)

Thanks for hosting! Have a super day!

HI thanks for the link party. I linked up my dresser re-do with paint and foil.

On the pink color. I love it. I look at this color and see it going great with black and turquoise. But my hubby would flip his lid if I used it on a wall lol..

  8. Maryann great mines think alike! I just made a quick post about the Pantone color and I'm having a linkly party (strictly honeysuckle) on Jan. 3. Maybe you have something to link up?
