77th Power of Paint Party… Milky Blue Bottles

Welcome Paint Lovers!

Over the past few days I’ve been sharing my summer mantel.  You can read the details here and link up to the Countdown to Summer party here.

One of my favorite items on my mantel was the happen-chance milky blue bottles.  If you’re around my blog much you know I love a Roy Roger and so I’ve got a collection of grenadine bottles (I think they are so pretty).

I decided to try painting them with a mix of 1/2 acrylic paint & 1/2 water and see what effect it would have on the bottles.

And I LOVED the way it turned out!

It created this milky, matte blue…

BEAUTIFUL!

(sorry for the grainy photos the last few days… not sure if a setting changed on my camera or if my point’n’shoot is on it’s last leg!

So what have you been painting?

Power of Paint Party Rules:

#1… This is a PAINT party… so pretty please, link-up only paint related projects.  I HATE deleting!

#2… Please put my nifty POPP button (you can find it up in my menu bar’s BUTTONS) in your blog post or a link back to this party somewhere on your blog… that way others from your blog can check out all the paint projects too.

#3… Share the Love… visit the other paint pals.

those bottles are rockin' and I hope gel stain counts as paint…if not…sorry!…and delete :)

  16. These remind me of the old aqua mason jars that I am dying to get my mitts on. I am going to make some of these to get the same effect. LOVE!

Hi Maryann! First off, I have to thank you for sharing your breathtakingly gorgeous bottles!! Seeing them kicked my butt into gear on crafting with some bottles that I've picked out of the trash and saved for a special purpose. =] Yes, I'm a trash digger. It's a problem.

I linked to you in my post today. http://www.shabbybeachnest.com/beachified-blue-bottles/ Thank you again for sharing, and for hosting such a fantastic linky party!!
