Are you guys ready for the New Year! As we’ve been enjoying our Christmas vacation my oldest daughter got crafty (which of course is always better with glitter) and created this cute layered star.
Archives for December 2011
WOW… What happened to this year? It has just flown by in my world. As this year comes to an end, I love to reflect back on some of the highlights.
Welcome Paint Lovers!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. We had a great time with family. Tonight I’m sharing with you guys the gift I made for my parents.
“An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.” Luke 2:9-11
Merry Christmas Friends! I realized that in the craziness of the last few weeks that I haven’t shown you any glimpses of the Christmas décor in our home this year. Of course I realized this once the sun had set, so you get some night shots this year.
Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend.
I’m done with my Christmas shopping with just a few more presents to wrap… so my brain is on baking and Christmas week festivities.
“The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.”
Happy Weekend! Can you believe it’s 1 week till Christmas Eve? Where has the time gone? Thankfully I “think” I have all the gifts done, just need to bake for the neighbors this next week.
Welcome Paint Lovers!
A few days ago Pantone announced their pick of the Color of the Year for 2012… Tangerine Tango!
Here’s what Pantone says about this vibrant shade: “Tangerine Tango, a spirited reddish orange, continues to provide the energy boost we need to recharge and move forward.
Do you love baking during the Christmas season? We love to in our home. The girls love to make treats to handout to the neighbors, coaches and teachers. I figured a decorated plate would make a plate of treats even sweeter.
I don’t know about you… but this time of year I just want to eat baked goods! The cold weather and the sights and sounds of Christmas makes me want to warm the kitchen with some fresh baked bread. I love baking, but too much of a good thing goes straight to the waist.
Welcome Paint Lovers!!!
Hope you’re having a fabulous start to your week.
This last week I decided to try out some homemade chalk paint. If you’re a paint-lover and a blog watcher I’m sure you’ve heard of Annie Sloan’s chalk paint. I’ve been waiting to try her paint, but there’s no $$$ in the budget for the pricey paint. If you haven’t heard about chalk paint… it’s a thicker paint, with great coverage… no need to sand or prime… sounds great, right! A few weeks ago one of the links here at the Power of Paint Party was for a recipe for chalk paint. I figured it was worth a try, especially since it was such a cheap option!
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
I’ve got a cute Christmas décor idea for your home or it would be great as a Christmas gift too!
Here’s what I used:
Design Divas vinyl
credit card or something to rub vinyl
