Happy Friday Friends!!!
A few weeks ago I was browsing the Pottery Barn catalog when I came across the cutest pillow. Don’t’ you love browsing their catalog.
Here’s what I came up with…
I used burlap from one of my sponsors, BurlapFabric.com.
I used freezer paper, acrylic paint and a textile medium to create this cutie.
I’ve got a great tutorial HERE on all the details of how I painted my seahorse and starfish pillows.
For the letters I just free-handed it, but the arrow was created with a freezer paper template.
I sewed the edges but decided to add some more interested by weaving a thin, white ribbon along the edges too.
Here’s the pottery barn pillow that inspired this…
My oldest daughter has already laid claim to this one… she adores the beach.
A cute summer addition.
Thanks for stopping by friends…

It turned out great!
Love it! I need to make that with the arrow saying ‘river’. ~ Maureen
LOVE that idea Maureen! Or if you lived near a Lake you could use “Lake”… love it!
I like your pillow better! Great job. I have a lot of burlap just patiently waiting for me…
Awe thanks Doreen!
I totally like your version 10′s better. It’s fresher and way more “Beachy” looking!! Like, white sand, fun beachy. That other thing looks like they varnished it. And it has more of a “rocky-windy beach vibe going”.
I’s much rather visit your beach =)
ok, I’m copying the copy
love it!
cute.
