Chalkboard Mirror {Wayfair Blogger Challenge}

I got to have fun with a little challenge this week.  I’m participating in the Wayfair Blogger Challenge with supporting sponsor Hometalk .  The challenge… to changing up one of 3 items from Wayfair within one of the themes: geometric, black and white or using rope.

I picked Wayfair’s Statford Wall Mirror with Shelf and went with the black and white theme.

I loved this mirror!  I love the classic lines and molding details… it’s super sweet all by itself… but to play along I decided to do a little chalkboard painting to create a sweet mirror for one of my girls.

I decided to just use the existing lines, and painted the center section with chalkboard paint.

I used 2 coats of paint, most chalkboard paints take 2-3 coats.  Then you need to let it dry well… I like to give it at least 24 hours.

I used those amazing chalk paint markers to doodle on some cuteness.

And the cute little shelf is working perfectly for her nail polish.

Such a fun place to put all her pretties!

Thanks for stopping by friends… I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

    I’ve been re-obsessed with chalkboard lately. I picked the mirror too for the challenge and when I was doing mine I was totally thinking “You know what else would be awesome? If like the whole frame was a chalkboard!” So of course I love your version!

      Me too Courtenay… a few years ago I was chalkboard crazy & I can feel it stirring again :) I love how your mirror turned out… perfect with that fabric!

    I love how you changed up the mirror. I want to do a chicken wire project – replace the glass in a frame with the chicken wire. I think I am going to do the chalkboard paint on the frame.

    Thanks for the inspiration.

      Yes… I’ve done that before Cottage By The Sea… gotta prime the mirror though or the chalkboard paint will eventually come off the mirror. Great idea!!
