62nd PoPP… Shelving the Laundry

Thanks for Sharing!

Welcome Paint Lovers!

I’ve been wanting to add a shelf to my laundry room since the day we moved in.  The other side of the laundry room is full of upper and lower cabinets, but the detergent, stain remover and fabric softener always seemed to find their home on top of the dryer (ugh).

That space right under the window was just begging for one!

(Just pretend with me that these are a cute, shiny front loading washer and dryer)

I had 2 basic plywood shelves in the garage (from Ikea).  IMG_5704

They got a coat of primer and 2 coats of paint…

I wanted 1 long shelf across the top of my washer and dryer, but I decided to use what I had.  I had to cut off about 1/2 inch from one of the shelves to make it fit between the two walls..

I used a basic “L” bracket  to hold up the shelves.

I used 3 brackets because this 1 shelf really is 2 shelves (hehe).

But I got a laundry shelf!

Just a little peak of her all dressed up.  Come back tomorrow to see her all skirted and accessorized.

So what have you been painting?

Power of Paint Party Rules:

This is a PAINT party… so pretty please, link-up only paint related projects.

I HATE deleting!

Please put my nifty POPP button (you can find it up in my menu bar’s BUTTONS) in your blog post or a link back to this party somewhere on your blog… that way others from your blog can check out all the paint projects too.

  1. I don't know what I'm doing wrong today, but I can't link my DIY Wire Basket Light up to the party. I've never had a problem before. Hopefully I'll figure it out when I get back in. Thanks for hosting this party every week.

  2. Thanks so much for hosting!! I accidentally uploaded the wrong link (the cake) and have now uploaded the correct link (the bed). So sorry!! Thanks again!! 🙂

  3. The shelf is perfect there… I have a basement laundry room (yuk) and I'm really trying to think of ways to fix it up nice. I love the shelf with the skirt! Great job!

As for your pretend front loaders…
