94th Power of Paint Party… Rattan Lamps

Welcome Paint Lovers!

A few weeks ago I shared with all my facebook friends about the score I found at a garage sale.  I got 2 of these rattan lamps for only $5!!!  Score!

They appeared to have been spray painted black.

I wanted them to be a dark, espresso brown to fit in perfectly with my ongoing family room makeover.

I so grabbed some of my acrylic paint in espresso brown and just brushed it on the rattan portion of the lamp.

I gave them 1 coat to get the coverage I wanted.  The areas that were really chipped I went over with a second coat.  I wanted a little of the black to come through to keep it a dark espresso brown.

And I scored this cool rectangular shade at the same garage sale for $1!  It was brand new, still in it’s plastic wrap.

So what have you been painting???

Power of Paint Party Rules:

#1… This is a PAINT party… so pretty please, link-up only paint related projects.  I HATE deleting!

#2… Please put my nifty POPP button (you can find it up in my menu bar’s BUTTONS) in your blog post or a link back to this party somewhere on your blog… that way others from your blog can check out all the paint projects too.

#3… Share the Love… visit the other paint pals.

That is one gorgeous lamp, especially for the whopping price of $3.50 (for 1) and a little time! I've always loved wicker lamps and the one you finished is great. Did you do both of them the same?
