Hi Friends! I love a challenge. So when Lamps.com asked me to be a part of their decorate a lampshade contest I jumped at the chance. Those who’ve been around my blog for a while know I adore burlap, so that was a given in my decor idea, but then I thought… how fun would it be with some grommets?
Let me show you what I started with…
A basic white drum shade.
First I had to figure out how to make the holes in the shade… and guess what a basic hole punch worked great!
Now the grommets I wanted to use were bigger than the hole from my hole punch, so I used a craft scissors and cut slits around the circle to enlarge it a bit.
After hot gluing the burlap fabric to the shade I pounded in the grommets.
I threaded some gorgeous striped satin ribbon through the grommets… so pretty!
It adds such an interesting flare with the grommets and ribbon.
Oh… and I’d LOVE your vote! Please visit Lamps.com’s Blog and vote for my burlap lampshade. I’d love for you to share some love pretty please. If my lampshade wins I get to giveaway a gift card and I want my readers to get a chance to win one.
Thanks for stopping by friends…
