Citrus Body Scrub

Thanks for Sharing!

My skin gets so dry this time of year, so this Citrus Body Scrub is the perfect solution.  We get really hot in the summer here in Southern California, and into the 30s at night during the winter, plus we have low humidity which just dries out my skin. I love using body scrubs and now as my girls are getting older they enjoy using them too… which can get expensive. Making your own is SO easy and quick and you can save a bundle of money and you can customize it to your liking too. This is a great DIY project and perfect if you have dry skin. You can plan ahead for Christmas gift ideas too.

My girls and I whipped up this batch in less than 5 minutes… super quick.

Making Citrus Body Scrub

This recipe will fill up 4 half-pint mason jars.

body scrub in a mason jar

In a microwave-safe bowl, I place the coconut oil. Then I start at 30 seconds in the microwave and see if it’s melted. Add additional time if needed until the solid coconut oil is completely liquid.

Add the sugar and stir until combined. Then add the citrus-scented oil and zest. Stir again until combined. Scoop into the mason jars, place the lids on, and gift or enjoy!

The great thing about this recipe is that you can swap out citrus for whatever essential oil scent you love…

change it up with the seasons.

I love citrus during the winter months.

And like I said this DIY Citrus Body Scrub couldn’t be easier to make and feels SO good on your skin! A good scrub makes a great gift idea. Keep this in mind for Mother’s Day, birthdays, etc. Add a cute gift tag and spoon to the mason jar for a beautiful and useful gift.

    1. I usually go through mine in about a month, but I’d think it would be good for a couple of months.
