Countdown to Spring Party… Mum Cupcakes
Hi Friends! Spring is just days away… wahoo! We’re having a rainy weekend here in So. Cal., so it was a perfect weekend for movies and baking. My girls and I decided to create some Spring cupcakes.
Have you seen the books, Hello Cupcake! and What’s New Cupcake? They have adorable, creative cupcakes and the books is full of great tips on how to make them.
We picked the Mum flower cupcake from the What’s New Cupcake book.
We made Pink Lemonade cupcakes with Strawberry Cream Cheese frosting… perfectly refreshing!
To make the flowers you take colored mini-marshmallows and cut them in half on the diagonal. Then you dip the cut side (because it will be sticky) into the colored sugars to create the flower petals.
I started by placing the flower marshmallow petals on the outer edge and worked my way inward.
These would be great for Easter, Mother’s Day or even a little girl’s birthday party!
So how are you getting ready for Spring? This is an easy-link party… no button or link-back is needed (but of course I’d love for you to do so).
The only rule… it MUST BE Spring related! Share your Spring décor, crafts, recipes, traditions… anything Spring related.
I can’t wait to see what you’re up to… Inspire Us!
Those are the prettiest cupcakes! Thanks for linking up at Best of the Weekend!
great cupcakes! thanks so much for hosting this party, i’ve posted it in my sidebar.
Oh my goodness, those cupcakes are gorgeous!
I know, so much rain and three sick kids = nothing getting done around here. I did decorate my mantel last week, I will go link it up!

Those cupcakes are just gorgeous. When I saw the thumbnail, I thought to myself “well, that’s not something I can do.” But then when I read your description and saw the petals are marshmallows, it became more doable. Thanks for sharing.
Those cupcakes are absolutely beautiful, and so are your photos!
Oh they do look soo pretty and delish ! Awesome photos ! We have by passed spring temps and gone straight into summer humid and highs well in the high 80s ! Strange since we here in Ontario Canada are known for our long and snowy winters but I am not complaining I love the warm weather ! Have a good day !
Thanks for hosting! I am ready for spring.
