Creating a Reading Nook in Your Master Bedroom

Sharing is caring!

I’ve always wanted a little reading area in our master bedroom.  You know a cute little space with a chair where I envision myself getting lost in a book while the sun warms me through the window.  I’m sure I’m not alone, right?

We had some small old bookcases and a giant armoire that just weren’t working in our room any longer.  So we updated it with some great Sauder furniture.

I fell in love with this gorgeous Addison Accent Chair.  I loved it’s Leather-like upholstery with the nailhead trim.  I used this as my focal piece when designing this space.

To replace our 2 small bookcases I selected this Storage Wall unit in a beautiful Lintel Oak finish.

I filled it with books, storage boxes and some fun decorative pieces.

I was able to get some additional storage with the Dakota Pass Display Cabinet.  You can never have too many storage options.

I added more books plus some extra pillows and throws.

Our tv sits above above, so I can add cute decorative items.  You can see I added a lot of nautical elements… blue glass, starfish and shells.

I love the details, like the metal ID label tags.

Put all together they created the perfect reading nook area.

  1. I love all the textures! You have wood grain in the shelves, leather on the chair, a cozy / furry blanket, and a (what appears to be) linen type pillow. This looks like a wonderful reading nook. 🙂 -Kelli
