DIY Chalkboard Burlap Frames
DIY Chalkboard Burlap Frames
Hi there everyone. It’s Mindy from My Creative Scoop! Today I’m sharing a 5 minute craft featuring Burlap for Domestically-Speaking’s Burlap Series. I just love burlap and that shabby chic look.
So, I had bought these 4×6 frames from the Dollar store. I’ve been wanting to do something with them for a while. I got my inspiration from Target. In there home decor section they always have the cutest ideas. So I wanted to create my own version of Burlap Frames using all the supplies from my stash, instead of buying the $15 frame from Target!
Chalkboard Burlap Frames Supplies:
- Dollar Store Frame
- Chalkboard Paint
- Burlap
- Vintage Key (found in the embellishment section at any local craft store)
Step 1. Paint your frame in the chalkboard paint, this is Prima’s Egg Blue Chalkboard paint.
Step 2. Add a second coat– still leaving it a little streaky so it has a shabby chic feel.
Step 3. Cut a piece of burlap to fit inside the frame. Then using some twine, tie the key to the burlap.
Step 4. I used my Scor-Tape to adhere the burlap to the back part of the frame, where you would normally place your photo.
Step 5. Hang your burlap masterpiece!
I had made a few other burlap frames for a little collage above my desk. I am so thrilled with the way this turned out. I could stop walking buy it last night. It’s so pretty!!! I’ve been wanting to make some frames like this for a while and I’m so glad I sat and created these. I made all 4 of these frames in under 30 minutes. They were so much fun to make. I can’t wait to make more!
I would love for you to come check out more of my DIY projects over on My Creative Scoop!
