DIY Home Security has been one of the latest trends, have you noticed that? If you can follow directions and are willing to spend a few minutes setting up your system you can save some bucks.
We’ve got 3 kiddos, two in high school and a middle schooler. We’re all coming and going throughout the day with different schedules, responsibilities, etc. Keeping them safe is one of my top priorities as a mom. So knowing we have a home security system is important to me.
Here’s what I was wanting in a Home Security System
- Something I could set up on my own (I wanted to save money).
- A system with an app – I wanted to be able to monitor and control my home from anywhere
- Real-time alerts – I wanted to be notified on my phone if something was happening
- Remote 911 calling – the ability to call 911 from anywhere as if you were at home which gives your home address to emergency responders.
I found all these with Ooma Home Security!
It was super easy to set up! They have 4 simple steps they walk you through to set up your new security system.
You can find the Ooma Home Security app in your Apple of Google stores.
Their app will walk you through connecting your home unit to your phone so you can know what’s happening while you’re gone.
Another HUGE plus, Ooma Home Security has an optional water sensor! Have you come home to a flood in your home? I know friends who have! Our washer hose popped loose just after we moved into our home years ago. Thankfully I was downstairs next to the laundry room when it happened, but can you imagine if I was gone? You can place the sensors near your washer and your dishwasher to be alerted right away.
