DIY Plaid Scarecrow Candy Holder

This Thursday evening is the DIH ( Do It Herself ) Workshop at your local Home Depot where you can learn how to make this your own.  I love this project because you can customize it to fit your Halloween / Harvest decor style.

I loved this cute scarecrow that I found at my local Home Depot.  They have a variety of cute ones to choose from.  I loved the plaid shirt on this one and decided to duplicate that plaid look on my candy box.

I used a gorgeous dark gray chalky paint for the back of the candy holder and the majority of the box.  Then I used acrylic craft paints in colors similar to the scarecrow’s plaid shirt to create the plaid front of the candy box.

I kept the edges of the plaid rough, unfinished as I wanted it to look as if a piece of the shirt had been torn and placed on the front.

Such a cute addition to our front porch!
