Happy Sunday Friends! I’ve got a fun and delicious treat to share with you guys today. We are still blazing hot out here in Southern California so this was the perfect treat for the kiddos to cool down with on Friday after a busy week of school and sports. These yummy popsicles are made with pureed strawberries, vanilla yogurt, blueberry yogurt and M & M’s®.
Don’t you love layers… I think layered foods are just so pretty. This one is super patriotic too.
Earlier in the week I stopped by Walmart to pick up all the items I needed for these fruit and yogurt popsicles: small cups, frozen strawberries, popsicle sticks, vanilla and blueberry yogurt and M & M’s.
Right now you can use this awesome coupon at Walmart…. you can save $5 if you purchase two bags of M & M’s and the newly released Captain America: The Winter Soldier (which the Hubby and I can’t wait to see).
So here’s how I made these fun treats. Start by pouring a thin layer of M & M’s in the base of the cups.
This is a great recipe to let the kiddos help with too.
Then a layer of the pureed strawberries. Since my strawberries were frozen I added a couple tablespoons of water to them in the blender before pureeing.
I added about 2 heaping tablespoons of the pureed strawberries to each cup.
Then I placed a popsicle stick in each cup and placed them in the freezer for about an hour.
For the next layer I added more M & M’s and then 2 heaping tablespoons of vanilla yogurt to each cup… then back into the freezer for another hour.
Once the hour was up I finished the final layer… more M & M’s and then 2 heaping tablespoons of the blueberry yogurt.
I let them freeze overnight.
You could pick any fruit or yogurt to make these popsicles. I thought the red, white and blue went perfectly with Captain America though…because #HeroesEatMMs right!
This little hero loved her special treat.
So fun with the layers of M & M’s! I hope you and your family have a chance to try these fruit and yogurt popsicles.
Thanks for stopping by friends! Hope your Sunday is sweet…
