Thrift Store Jewelry Tray Makeover

Thanks for Sharing!

Do you love a great thrift store makeover?  How about this Jewelry Tray Makeover!  I came across a pretty wood 2 bowl tray at our local thrift store for only $1!  It’s been sitting in my office for a few months until inspiration finally hit.

Here’s the cool $1 tray I found.

They were trying to sell it for $5.99, but I got it on dollar day!  I loved the shape of the tray, with the 2 separate sections and it’s gorgeous wood tones.

After staring at it for months it seems like the perfect size for jewelry or trinkets.  To get a little more contrast I decided to paint the inside of the bowls.

I went with a beautiful, deep gray chalky paint.  I love this stuff because you get great coverage with only 1 coat.  All I did to prep the wood was to wipe it down with a wet paper towel.

One hour later and I had a beautiful Jewelry Holder!

  1. OK, that is just cute! Love the gray color you used! I see those old wooden pieces at the thrift store a lot and never thought to modernize one with a little paint!
