Laminate Floor Cleaner Recipe
Did you see the gorgeous Pergo floors we installed at the end of last year? It was a big project, ripping out all our old flooring and installing new laminate flooring, but it was so worth it! Part of the fun of new household upgrades is learning how to care for them. I thought I’d share with you my favorite laminate floor cleaner recipe that I use to keep our Pergo floors looking great.
Laminate Floor Cleaner
I love using natural cleaners in my home, so if you’re like me this laminate floor cleaner is the perfect recipe. Here’s what you need.

- spray bottle
- water – 1 3/4 cups
- white vinegar – 2 tablespoons
- essential oil (I love lemon or peppermint and lavender together) – 6 to 8 drops
- funnel – makes the job easier
- mop (this one is my favorite)
Gather your ingredients and add them to the spray bottle, using a funnel to make it easier.
Once everything is added to the spray bottle, put the lid on and give it a good shake.
Now it’s time to clean.
You can see the before and after using the laminate floor cleaner.
I just spray a little on and then clean the area well until it’s almost completely dry, the rest will air dry quickly.
You can just store it with your cleaning supplies and just give it a little shake when I’m ready to use it again.
I hope you’ll get a chance to try it soon and let me know if you come up with any other great essential oil combos!
Is the essential oil necessary? I have a dog and a rabbit and don’t want to use anything in the home that will harm them. I’d like to try this without it as really its the vinegar that is the key dirt removing ingredient.

Nope, not necessary – just helps to cut the vinegar smell.
Please remember if you have cats, you shouldn’t use essential oils on your flooring as their liver can’t break it down and it becomes toxic to them. I learned this the very hard way.
Designer Girl, the vinegar should be diluted enough not to cause any damage to the flooring.
wont the acid in the vinegar wear down the finish?
Maryann i read your post about laminate floor cleaning recipe and i think it really works because i tried it in my home and really it works and now i response you here about it..
Not with the small amount used. You’re only misting the floor and then wiping it off.
That’s a good recipe. Vinegar contains acid, so it works well for removing the dirt and disinfecting.
Wow that was really refreshing insights, I never thought any of that. They say social media marketing was easy an needs less time and effort, its really a misunderstanding about this field.
