Metallic Browns and Gold Leaf Fall Wreath
Today I’ve got a gorgeous Metallic Browns and Gold Leaf Fall Wreath that I painted up, just perfect for fall. I love the shimmer of the different shades. The wreath has all the tones of fall just glammed up a little bit. These Simple Burlap Fall Wreath and Updated Autumn Wreath with Corn Husks are also some of my fall favorite wreaths over the year.
I am crushing on metallics this fall, so I thought a DIY metallic autumn leaf was in order. This beautiful wreath is perfect for your porch on your front door, over your mantel/mantle, or hanging on a kitchen pantry door.
Here’s what you need to make this wreath.

- Rich Espresso paint
- Liquid Gold Leaf
Making Your Metallic Leaf Wreath
I divided up the leaves into three piles and painted each batch with one of the 3 shades. The colors I used were a worn copper shade, a beautiful rich brown tone, and a gold shade. You can see the leaves started in the traditional fall tones of orange and yellows.
Let the paint on the leaves dry completely before moving on. It should dry thoroughly in a couple hours.
Then I used a hot glue gun to attach the painted leaves into the grapevine wreath. I dapped the end tips of the leaves with some hot glue and then pushed the glued end into the grapevine wreath between the twigs.
To hang my wreath I cut a strip of burlap fabric. I think a velvet ribbon would be gorgeous
I love all these shades together! If you’re looking for great fall projects, add this one to your list. It’s the perfect diy project to kick off the fall season..

love the color combo and how easy it was to transform the leaves.
did you feel the need to put a clear topcoat on the leaves?
does it stand up to being on an outside door?
thanks, I am really excited to try this!
Emily I’ve only used it indoors, so I’m not sure how it would hold up outdoors. I’m sure a clear topcoat would be a great option though.
Happy crafting!

I love your wreath. The colors are so beautiful. Which paint company did you use, if you would share with me. Thank you for sharing.
Sure Stephanie! So the gold is liquid gold leaf. The two paints are both Dazzling Metallics from DecorArt. Their shades are Worn Penny and Rich Espresso.
This is so pretty Maryann! Crushing on the metallics!
Oh MaryAnn I am loving your leaf wreath. So pretty with metallic leaves all over. Metallic colors are gorgeous. Have noticed lots of different colors used for Fall this year. While I love jewel colors of Fall metallic is very strong and poignant. Enjoyed this post. Have so many projects lined up think I’ll make t hem for people to give. No more room to have in house.
Actually today I went around undoing some of arrangements, moved some items, just uncluttered. Felt lighter afterwards.
Got one set of flannel sheets out of storage today, some long sleeve tshirts and couple pair of lighter flannel jammies. Been a mite nippy at night, frost warnings so thought while I was thinking about it would hunt them up. Think will be glad I did in few days. It’s trying to cool off more here. Hope so. Happy weekand Fall
Thanks JaneEllen… we are starting to cool down here in So.Cal. It’s only suppose to be in the 80’s today … 🙂
I love your wreath. Very pretty colors.
Thanks Cyndee
