Nautical Rope Candlestick
I adore decor with a summer vibe throughout the year. Anything with that beachy, nautical look always catches my eye. So when I came across a giant wooden candlestick I thought why not turn it into a Nautical Rope Candlestick? Seemed the logical think to do!
Nautical Rope Candlestick
Nautical Rope Candlestick {affiliate links included for your convenience}:
- large candlestick ( I found mine at a thrift store)
- sisal rope
- hot glue gun
I started at the top and worked my way down. This is the type of project where you gather your supplies – plop in front of the TV and go to work while you watch one of those shows that’s been sitting in your DVR to long.
Getting the first couple rows glued down well is important – after that you can spread your hot glue out more. And after you feel like you just can’t go around again you’ll stand back in awe at your beautiful Nautical Rope Candlestick!

This is so cool! I love the kind of rope that you used-it looks really authentic! Well done! Thanks for sharing the idea and the walk through!
This is super cute! Totally transformed the look, love it!
Thanks Kristin!
I once did a chandy, and I got sick of wrapping, but kept going!

I bet it turned out gorgeous!
How cute is that. You have the best ideas. I’ve gone through miles of sisal rope this year. It’s my new fav DIY item.
I Love it too – always good to keep some on hand.
A couple years ago at Lowes we bought some rope for a project, but got it home and it was too thick. I have been looking for ways to use it up – I think I feel a wrap of something coming on, great idea.
Wrap away!!!
