Painted Fieldstone Bookends
Hey there, friends! It’s Erin from Elizabeth Joan Designs and I’m so glad to be back here with another super quick craft for you guys this month. I don’t know about you, but I love when projects are inexpensive and easy. These Painted Fieldstone Bookends definitely fit that bill.
Painted Fieldstone Bookends
We recently moved to the country and while tilling up the field which will eventually be our grassy yard, we came across hundreds of these stones. It seemed like such a natural idea to use a couple of these fieldstones for a project. After some thinking and consulting with my sister, I finally decided on bookends. The rocks were free and I already had plenty of paint on hand, so I got to work.
Supplies used for Painted Fieldstone Bookends: Affiliate Links Included for your convenience
- Fieldstones w/ Flat Sides (size is subjective)
- White Acrylic Paint
- Small Paint Brush
- Pencil w/ Eraser
- Flat Head Pin
For the polka dot rock, I pushed the pin into the end of a pencil eraser for more stability and dotted each little paint circle in a line, creating several rows around the stone.
The striping technique was even easier. I just used a small paint brush to paint on each stripe.
After a few minutes of drying, these Painted Fieldstone Bookends were ready for use. I put them in my son’s room to hold up several of his favorite Shel Silverstein books next to his bed for easy access.
The bookends could even be used as a simple, yet rustic paperweight. I love that I was able to use these cool fieldstones from our property to make a speedy craft.
