Painting Copper |Updating a Thrift Store Bowl
Friends it’s time for our monthly Thrift Store Decor and we’re excited to have a guest this month!!! I’m sure you love her as much as I do. This month I’m sharing how I updated a thrift store bowl for fall using some copper paint.
I found this bowl at my local thrift store for $1.25. I loved the copper base and I didn’t mind it’s chipped worn look at all…
but I thought it would be fun to give it a little update for fall.
So I decided to paint the inside of the bowl with some copper metallic acrylic paint… so pretty! (it’s drying here so a bit streaky).
Now the inside of the bowl has a pretty, fall shimmer. Looks beautiful paired with some browns, creams and red.
Adds just a little “something” special and it just took one coat and less then 5 minutes!
Are you starting to get ready for fall too?
This month the awesome Gina from Shabby Creek Cottage is our guest thrift store blogger!

I really like copper -thinking of accenting with it during the holidays this season. Like what you did, very pretty!
Don’t you just love it when a simple project comes across your craft table. The addition of the copper is just perfect. I am really ready for fall!
I am so in love with all the colors of fall, like your copper addition to your bowl! Very nice!
So pretty. I love metallic. I’m also ready for Fall!
Me to Kathy! I am longing for cooler weather.
I love this project, the bowl turned out great!
Thanks Kristin 🙂
My new color in our family room is copper and I’ve used metallic craft paint on a couple projects, and I have a bowl I hadn’t thought of “converting” till now.
I’m digging copper right now!
