Patriotic Burlap Table Runner
I’ve got a great Patriotic Burlap Table Runner to share with you! This is an easy DIY craft project that is so cute for Memorial Day and the Independence Day. The great part is you can change up the ribbon colors to create a whole different look for decorating.
This Patriotic Burlap Table Runner was an easy ~ no sew ~ project… just the way I like them!
Supplies Needed:
Affiliate links are provided for your convenience.
- burlap fabric – I used a piece 6 ft. by 1 ft.
- red ribbon (one foot longer than your burlap)
- blue ribbon (one foot longer than your burlap)
- scissors
- iron
- blue mason jars
Prepping the burlap
Let’s get started on this festival table runner. I started by folding over the edge of the burlap and cutting 1” slits at one inch intervals. Having a good fabric scissors makes this really quick and easy.
Once both sides were done, I gave the piece of burlap a good ironing. You can see the edge has a little fringe showing.
Adding the Ribbon
I picked out a red and white small stripe ribbon and a blue on blue striped ribbon for this project. The blues are a navy blue and a royal blue (love the combo). Then I slid the ribbon through the slits that I had cut in the burlap. Just weave the ribbon up and down from one side to the other side.
To finish off the ends of the ribbons I just tied them off with a few knots.
I just love how this 4th of July table runner turned out & I love it paired with these gorgeous blue mason jars.
Other Great Decor Ideas
- white ironstone pitchers with some small flags
- white stars and little red star sprinkled down the center
- small pitcher with single flag

I absolutley love this! I don’t sew so I’m always looking for things I can do that don’t require a sewing machine. I have some burlap I was going to make placemats out of and you’ve inspired me.
