Rattan Lamps Updated with Paint

Thanks for Sharing!

The Thrift Store Team is back together this month sharing some more great thrift store makeovers!  I love seeing what these ladies do each month.  This month I’m tackling some rattan lamps with a beautiful driftwood update.

Rattan Lamps

Here’s what I started with…

A pretty basic rattan lamp that could easily be updated with paint.    Here’s what I used:

You want to just dry brush the lamp once you have a dark base.  To dry brush you want to load a little bit of paint on our brush and then wipe most of it off.

Here you can see the progress as I was working my way around the lamp.  You want the dark base to still show through.  With rattan’s texture this is really easy to do, but the same technique applies with any surface.

It’s a SUPER quick process and one you really can’t mess up on as long as your remember to wipe most of the paint off.

I think these will be going in my new office space, which is coming along.
