- Piece of burlap or a burlap runner. (piece I used was 5 1/2 feet long by 10″ wide)
- Ribbon ( I used a great and white chevron ribbon)
- fabric scissors
How to make a Burlap and Ribbon Runner
You start getting your burlap fabric to what you want your table runner measures. I started with a piece of burlap that was 5 1/2 feet long by 10” wide. You can pick whatever width you’d like your burlap table runner to be.
Then I cut slits in the burlap every 2.5” down the length of the burlap runner. You want to do that for both sides of the fabric.
I made the slits just wide enough to weave the chevron ribbon through it. I found that folding the burlap to cut made it quick and easy.
Then it’s time to put the ribbon through. I started on the bottom side of the burlap and wove the ribbon through the first slit to the top. Then the next slit over I pushed the ribbon down to the bottom side. I repeated the process until I got to the end.
On the bottom side of the fabric, I tied off the ribbon by tying it into a knot so it wouldn’t slide through.
Customize Your Table Runner
You can so easily customize your table runner for different seasons or events. A cute Christmas ribbon for the holidays. A lace ribbon for weddings would be beautiful. Pick whatever ribbon suits your home decor or your event.
Such a fun and easy Spring craft that made for the perfect base for my Spring tablescape.

Would you be able to make me a burlap runner with ribbon like shown in the Pinterest post? If so, how much would you charge?

For burlap prints any specific burlap in terms of thickness should be used? Please reply
GORGEOUS! It’s a perfect project.
Did you use fabric glue at the ends of the Chevron ribbon to adhere to the burlap or maybe tie knots in the ribbon?
Linda – I just tied off each end with a double-knot.
