Winter Mantel with Signs of Spring

Thanks for Sharing!

So I’m finally getting around to sharing with you guys my winter mantel. After packing up the Christmas gear my poor mantel sat mostly empty for a couple weeks. I was ready to break out the Spring look, especially since we’ve been enjoying gorgeous Spring weather here in Southern  California.

What do you put on a mantel after Christmas?

After the Christmas decor is all packed away and it’s not quite Spring yet, what do you put on your mantel. For my winter mantel decor I like either to do all neutral color scheme, really embrace the winter, with different shades of white and grays or I like to preview what’s coming next, like I did with this mantel.

So this Winter Mantel has lots of hints of Spring with the vibrant teal blues while still showcasing the cold winter months with the pinecones and epsom salt elements..

I love the contrast with the stark, simplicity and the vibrant blues in my living room.

How can I decorate my house for winter?

I incorporated epsom salt pinecones, Looking Glass spray painted and natural pine cones. The pinecones add some natural elements that add to that cozy winter look.

On either side of the mantel there are more pinecones. One large basket on the right side and then a glass vase on the left side. All these easy decor items create a winter vibe, yet keep that cozy feel that I want in my own home.

I love how it turned out.

  1. That’s fabulous! I’m going to do the same thing, except I’m using DraWitpainT’s black whiteboard paint instead and neon markers. The kids picked it out, and it’s going to look great! You’re an inspiration! thanks!

    1. Awe thanks Lisa… we really desperately need some cooler weather and rain… but I’m enjoying the warmth while we have it!
