Total Time 35 minutesminutes
Serving Size 6servings
Equipment
parchment paper
Ingredients
¾cuppopcorn kernelsI used white popcorn but any will work
1cupmilk chocolate meltsyou can use dark or semi-sweet if you prefer
¼cupcrushed candy canes
Christmas sprinklesoptional
Instructions
Place the popcorn kernels in a brown paper bag. Fold the top of the bag over twice to seal.
Microwave for approximately 2 minutes. Listen for the popcorn to have gaps of time between popping. Once I hear 3-4 seconds between pops I stop the microwave.
Pour the popcorn onto the parchment paper. Spread it out so it can cool.
Place your chocolate melts into a microwave safe bowl or a glass measuring cup and microwave at 30-second intervals. Stir after each. Repeat until the chocolate is melted completely and smooth.
Drizzle the melted chocolate over the popcorn. Try to get some chocolate on each piece of popcorn.
Immediately sprinkle the crushed candy canes on top of the melted chocolate so it will stick. If you want any additional Christmas sprinkles you can add those now.
Let the chocolate set up for at least 20 minutes before breaking it into clusters for easier serving and eating.
