Blogging 411
Hi Friends! Hope you’re having a wonderful week. I’ve been having a fun, busy week including my birthday yesterday.
I’ve got an assortment of goodies for you today.
First the winner from last week’s giveaway from Burlap Fabric. And the lucky winner (selected by random.org) of the $25 gift certificate is… #36… Heather @ new house, new home, new life who said, “Love the jute webbing – can see it used in so many ways. Thanks for the opportunity to win something like this.”
Heather I sent you an email! Please respond by Friday or I will have to select a new winner.
Last week Beckie over at Infarrantly Creative wrote a blog post that I just heart! It really gives the 411 on where so many of us bloggers, me included are coming from. I love… ok not just love… I adore blogging. I get energized from being creative and I love nothing more than sharing what I do with you all and hoping that it inspires you… but in all truthfulness… blogging is a business for me too. Beckie’s series is called What Every Blogger Wants You to Know, but Doesn’t Want to Tell You. I think it a great read with LOTS of great info!
After reading Beckie’s post I was browsing through the comments and learned something new… don’t’ you love that!
Do you keep up with your favorite blogs through Google Reader? This has been my favorite method over the years. Well apparently if you follow through Google Reader there is a wonderful option called Google Next that you can set up which allows you to add a “NEXT” button to your toolbar. When you click the “Next” button it will open to a site (that you follow of course) that has an updated new post in your Google Reader. Click on the “Next” button again and you are instantly taken to the next new post of another blog with updated content that you follow. How cool is that! Diane over at In My Style wrote up a great post all about the Next option and how you can install it. You can find it here.
I hope this gives you guys a little 411!
Thanks for stopping by…
Thanks for the shout out Maryann. I never knew about that feature until I wrote that post. It is awesome, totally love it.
I started using the “next” feature a couple of weeks ago and I love it. The nice thing is that when you use the next button, the blogger you are reading actually shows a “hit” on their site. Sometimes the only way we know if anyone is really reading is when we see those hits!
Great point Suzan! I forgot to point that it. Yes… it is a great benefit to the blogs you follow!!!! Thanks for pointing that out.
Hi Maryann
Thank you so much – I never win anything, so this is going to be fun. I do love that jute webbing – but there are so many other wonderful things to choose from. My creative juices are flowing already!!!!
