Skirt Steak Marinade
Have you tried Skirt Steak? I love skirt steak for many reasons… it’s usually a great price… it marinades beautifully… and it’s quick to cook up! So today I’ve got my favorite Skirt Steak Marinade to share with you.
Why Marinade?
Marinating steak helps with the tenderization of the protein. As the steak sits in the it’s tasty bath it helps to break down the muscle fibers. It also adds flavor as it soaks in the delicious marinade.
Ingredients for Marinade Recipe
Likely you’ve got everything you need to whip up this marinade right now. If you’re not familiar with skirt steak it’s long, flat cut of meat. It is best if you marinade it and then cut it thinly after it cooks. A flank steak works great with this marinade too. You could use any cut of beef you like, but my favorite with this recipe is a skirt steak.
- olive oil
- Worcestershire sauce
- garlic

- black pepper
- cumin
- cilantro

Skirt Steak Marinade Recipe
Add the olive oil, garlic, cilantro and other into a sealed container or a large ziploc bag. love to make up the marinade the night before I’m going to cook it and let it sit in the marinade overnight.
Pull your steak out of the fridge about 30 minutes prior to grilling to bring it up to room temperature.
Once your grill pan is heated up well at medium high it only takes about 2-4 minutes per side to have these delicious skirt steaks finished. Make sure your pan is hot before putting the steak on the grill pan or your outside grill. You can also use a cast iron skillet. With a hot grill or pan you will get a quick sear that helps to seal in the juices.

Getting ready to buy ingredients to make the second time!! It was wonderful, by the way!! How many people, would you think, each skirt steak would feed? I am planning to make sides.
So glad you liked it Donna! This feeds our family of 5 with no leftovers, with sides on the dinner – just depends how big of eaters you have.
I MUST MARINATE MY MEAT AT LEAST A DAY IN ADVANCE AS WELL.
ALWAYS LOOKING FOR A NEW ONE, THIS ONE SOUNDS TASTY
