An Easy Way to Help!
A big thank you to Purina Cat Chow for sponsoring this post, all opinion as always are my own.
I’m so excited to share with you guys my partnership with Purina Cat Chow for the “Building Better Lives Adoption Drive.” Two years ago we adopted our sweet Mittens from our local shelter. Purina has partnered with local animal shelters this month to help spread the word about the great opportunity you have this month to adopt a new feline family member.
All of our cats have either been strays or abandoned on our street until last year when we got our newest family member, Mittens.
This is a pic from the day we brought her home from our local shelter.
We are sure that Mittens thinks she’s a dog. She definitely acts like one. She loves playing soccer with a Ping pong ball, chasing shadows and playing dead. Strange I tell you!
Every year, approximately 3.4 million U.S. cats are taken in by animal shelters and only half of those cats are adopted. So during this month, Adopt a Shelter Cat Month, Purina Cat Chow wants to help find more cats forever homes with its “Building Better Lives Adoption Drive” that will partner with 50 shelters, one in every state, to help find forever homes for at least 2,500 shelter cats. Awesome right!
Purina Cat Chow will donate up to $75,000 to its 50 shelter partners to support cat adoptions IF cat people nationwide share their cat adoption or rescue story, picture or video using the hashtag #MyRescueStory on social media. Each shelter partner will receive up to a $1,500 donation and be asked to put the donation towards offsetting adoption fees for at least 50 cats to help encourage more cat adoptions.
For every #MyRescueStory you guys share, Purina Cat Chow will help subsidize a cat adoption fee – a donation of $30 per cat and up to $1,500 per shelter – at one of its 50 shelter partners. So simple and it just takes a few minutes of your time!!!
In addition to the donation to each shelter partner, Purina Cat Chow will be doing a $25,000 shelter makeover at the SPCA of Wake County in Raleigh, N.C.
One great place to share your story is at the Purina Cat Chow “Building Better Lives Adoption Drive” Twitter party this Tuesday, June 9 from 8 – 9 p.m. ET. The fun party host will be Stacie Connerty from the blog Divine Lifestyle (@stacieinatlanta) so be sure to follow her on Twitter to keep up with the conversation and don’t forget to use the #MyRescueStory hashtag. We want to hear about your rescue stories!
So don’t forget! Share with us about your Rescue Story! “Building Better Lives Adoption Drive” by sharing their own #MyRescueStory on social media channels. Let’s max out those donations!
The Purina Cat Chow “Building Better Lives Adoption Drive” is part of the brand’s “Building Better Lives” program, an ongoing commitment to help improve the lives of cats through rescue, nutrition and adoption support. The brand works to support shelters and help more cats find forever homes. The Purina Cat Chow “Building Better Lives Adoption Drive” may donate up to $100,000 to our 50 shelter partners. Within three years, the Purina Cat Chow “Building Better Lives” program will have donated up to $745,000 to more than 100 local cat-focused shelters nationwide and helped improve the lives of more than 86,000 cats. And you can be a part of that!!!
