Easter Bunny Buns and Chickie Cupcakes
A big thank you to Hostess for sponsoring this post, as always all opinions are mine.
Can you believe we are only days from Easter! I’ve got some cute, last minute treats that you can whip up for the kiddos this Easter or even let them help. Super cute Easter Bunny Buns and Chickie Cupcakes.
Let’s start with the Bunny Buns.
I used Hostess’ Powdered Sugar Donettes to make these. You also need some miniature pink marshmallows and icing (I went with the easy, already in the tube type).
Flatten out a pink marshmallow between your fingers, then use a dab of icing to place the pink marshmallow in the center of the Donette.
For the little bunny feet I took a pink marshmallow and cut it in half diagonally. I used the icing to place them on the sides of the Donette.
I placed them on a cake stand with coconut flakes that I dyed green. To dye the coconut dump your coconut flakes into a ziplock baggie, squirt in 2 drops of green and 1 drop of yellow food coloring. Shake it around till it’s evenly distributed.
I also found those cute carrot gummies at our local grocery store.
For the Chickie Cupcakes I stared with a Hostess Cupcake. I went the easy method again and used green frosting in a can to create the grass on top.
Then I sliced a Twinkie in half and used some black icing to create the eyes. Then I used orange jelly beans for the beaks. I cut the jelly bean into quarters to create the beak. I used icing to stick it onto the Twinkie.
Then I used yellow icing to create the little hair swirl on top.
So cute! I know my girls would have a blast making these.
Hostess has been making snacking history for almost 100 years. I know when my kiddos need to bring a snack for their teams, Hostess is the first thing they grab. They love Twinkies golden cake and creamy filling, my son loves the Cupcakes… he’s a chocolate guy and the Donettes are a fun breakfast treat. Did you know they come in Chocolate, Devil’s Food Chocolate, Crunch, Powdered Sugar, and their newest flavor, Glazed?
