Canned Biscuits Are Your Shortcut To Donuts
Canned biscuits are essentially a life-saver for busy bakers or anyone looking for a quick, no-fuss way to create delicious, homemade donuts. They provide a perfect base for donuts, offering the right amount of doughy goodness and making the process incredibly convenient.
Convenience:
Canned biscuits are a time-saving wonder. They come pre-made and portioned, eliminating the need for measuring and mixing dough from scratch. Just pop open the can, and you’re ready to start creating your donut masterpiece.
Consistent Texture:
Canned biscuit dough is designed to be consistent in texture and flavor, ensuring your donuts turn out uniformly fluffy and soft. You can count on a reliably delightful outcome every time.
Easy to Shape:
The pliable dough in canned biscuits allows for easy shaping and cutting, making it a breeze to create the classic donut shape. Simply flatten the biscuit a bit and use a round cookie cutter (or any circular object) to cut out the center, giving you that iconic donut appearance. Or if you’re lazy like I was feeling, just use your fingers to create a hole in the center of the donut.
Prep Your Pumpkin Spice Sugar Mixture
I followed this Pumpkin Pie Spice Recipe to make my own, but you can definitely use store bought pumpkin pie spice for this donut recipe. In a small bowl I combined my homemade spice recipe with cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, allspice, and pepper.
Then in a separate bowl I combined some of the pumpkin pie spice with some sugar to create the coating mixture to use on the air fryer donuts when they come out.
