How to Make Chocolate Spoons
This is the spoon mold that I used on this recipe (you can click the link above or this image below to see where I bought it)
Start by adding some sprinkles to your spoon mold. I went with red shiny sprinkles and red, white, and pink mini balls. You can use whatever fun toppings you like and change it up for different holidays.
Then you need to melt your white chocolate candy melts. You can use vanilla melts or white chocolate chips to melt for these spoons. You don’t need a lot for these spoons. Place what you are melting into a microwave-safe bowl. I started with 30-second intervals on high in the microwave, stirred then add another 20 if it was needed. Stir again… if it’s not completely melted then place bake in the microwave for another 20 seconds and repeat. If you prefer, you could definitely use a double boiler instead.
Using a spoon pour the white chocolate into the molds on top of the sprinkles you added earlier.
Once filled I tapped them on the counter to get any bubbles out and to help even them out, then add some more sprinkles to the top.
I put them into the refrigerator to chill quickly. They were ready to pop out in less than 30 minutes.
I added a single serving of hot chocolate mix to the clear cellophane bag plus a handful of mini marshmallows and a white chocolate spoon. Finish off with some red and pink curling ribbon and you’ve got an adorable Valentine’s gift idea.
Making Your Hot Cocoa
When you are your gift recipient want to make their hot chocolate, they can heat water, milk, etc. Pour the hot cocoa mix and mini marshmallows into a mug. Then pour the hot liquid on top, my personal favorite is hot whole milk. Then use your cute chocolate spoon to stir your hot chocolate, and as you stir your spoon will melt into your hot chocolate making an even more delicious hot chocolate for you to enjoy!
Other Topping Ideas
- crushed peppermint candies or candy canes for Christmas spoons
- peanut butter chips – because peanut butter goes great with chocolate
