How to Make Baked Pumpkin Spice Donuts
- Preheat and Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly spray a donut pan with nonstick cooking spray.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves until well combined.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate large bowl, whisk together vegetable oil, brown sugar, egg, vanilla extract, pumpkin puree, and milk until smooth.
- Combine Wet and Dry: Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the donuts light and fluffy.
- Fill the Pan: Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full. Gently tap the pan on the counter to remove air bubbles and even out the batter.
- Bake: Bake for 15 minutes or until the donuts are firm and spring back when touched. A toothpick inserted should come out clean.
- Cool and Glaze: Let the donuts cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Serve warm dusted with powdered sugar or cool completely and drizzle with a simple glaze (mix 1 cup powdered sugar with 1-2 tablespoons water).
