Chocolate Pudding Brownies

These Chocolate Pudding Brownies are one of my Grandma’s recipes. I love making recipes from her recipe rolodex! It’s an easy brownie dessert recipe that will become a family favorite in your home too. If you’re a fan of the classic chocolatey goodness of brownies but want to take them to the next level, this recipe is for you.

What’s the secret ingredient, you ask? Well, it’s none other than pudding mix! Adding pudding mix to the batter not only enhances the fudgy texture but also infuses an extra layer of flavor that will leave you craving more.

An instant Jello pudding mix and ingredients you most likely have in your home is all you need to make these chocolate, chewy delights. This pudding brownie recipe can be made in a bowl with a spoon or whisk, or if you prefer you can use a mixer with a paddle attachment.

Chocolate Pudding Brownies

One of my Grandma’s recipes, these Chocolate Pudding Brownies are delicious and easy to make.

Cook Time 35 minutes
Total Time 45 minutes
Serving Size 16 squares

Equipment

  • 8" square pan

Ingredients

  • 3.9 ounce instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/3 cup butter melted
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup walnuts optional
  • nonstick cooking spray

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 ℉ degrees.
  • Combine instant chocolate pudding mix, flour, and baking powder in a large mixing bowl.
  • Add sugar to melted butter. Mix and then add to pudding, flour mixture. Combine.
  • Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla and nuts (optional).
  • Spread the brownie batter into a greased 8-inch square pan. Bake for 35 minutes at 350 degrees.
  • Cool in pan.

Notes

Let cool at least 20 minutes before cutting into squares. 
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
Delicious served warm with vanilla ice cream.

Tips & Tricks:

  • Experiment with different flavors of pudding mix for unique variations. Vanilla, butterscotch, or even white chocolate pudding mix can add an exciting twist!
  • For an extra gooey texture, slightly underbake the brownies and let them cool completely before slicing.

  1. Is this brownie recipe made for over the elevation of 7000 feet. I have a terrible time baking here in Ruidoso New Mexico. I can’t get use to this elevation.
