Easy Valentines Day Treat
This Easy Valentines Day Treat is great for kids of all ages. It’s also wonderful for Valentine’s Day parties! This is the ultimate snack mix with homemade muddy buddies and chocolate covered pretzels that look like hearts, and chocolate candies and pink hearts. These would be great served at a Valentines Day Party with my Valentine’s Cookies ~ Cookie and Candy in One and my White Chocolate Dipped Rice Krispie Treats on a Stick.
What snacks to get for Valentine’s Day?
I’ve got 3 kiddos, teenagers, and young adults, and they will gobble up this Valentines Day snack mix! I love serving them up in ice cream cones for a fun twist. This is the perfect combo of all those things you love to snack on for Valentine’s Day. These are great sweet bites served up in an ice cream cone for fun.
Instructions for Muddy Buddies:
Muddy Buddies are one of those snack items that is a great treat any time of year. It’s an easy recipe to make and you can really put your own spin on it and get creative too. I made this batch with Valentine’s Day dessert in mind, but they are great any day including February 14th.

- ½ cup chocolate chips
- ¼ cup peanut butter
- ¼ cup butter
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- 4 ½ cups rice Chex
- 4 ½ cups corn Chex
- 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
Add semi-sweet chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter to a small, microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 30 seconds. Remove from microwave and stir. Microwave again for 30 seconds. Stir in vanilla and set aside.
In a large bowl, combine rice and corn Chex.
Pour chocolate mixture over Chex and stir until coated.
Place half the mixture inside a one-gallon bag and add ¾ cup powdered sugar. Shake to combine. Pour onto waxed paper to cool. Repeat with other half of mixture and powdered sugar.
Instructions for Chocolate Pretzel Hearts:
These chocolate covered pretzels are a favorite in our home too. They are easy to make and they can be changed up for any season too. The heart shape is perfect for your sweetheart.
- 25 mini pretzels (these are the ones I used)
- Melting chocolate (chocolate bark)
- Pink decorating sugar
Melt chocolate according to package instructions. Dip mini pretzels in the chocolate, making sure to cover the entire pretzel.
Sprinkle pink decorating sugar on each pretzel.
Allow to cool and set completely.
How to Assemble Valentines Day Treats:
Fill each ice cream cone with 1/3 cup Muddy Buddy mix.
Top with one chocolate covered pretzel heart.
Add red chocolate candies and sprinkle with pink heart sprinkles.
Serve up these adorable Valentine Day Treats to your favorite people. They sweet treats are fun for special occasions and you could change up the colors, etc for different holidays or birthdays, etc.
