- sprinkles
How to Make Rice Krispie Treats on a Stick
Follow your regular favorite recipe to make rice krispie treats or if you wanted to you could even buy them already prepared. I personally like to add a little more marshmallows than the traditional recipe on the box of rice krispies cereal calls for.
Melt butter over medium-low heat in a large pot. Add your marshmallows, remove from heat. Stir the rice krispie cereal into the marshmallow mixture. Make sure you spray your 9×13 pan well with nonstick spray and I like to spray my spatula too, which makes stirring and pressing the sticky mixture into the pan easier. If you prefer you can use parchment paper, but I still recommend spraying it with nonstick spray.
If you make them from scratch, which I highly recommend the homemade treats, you need to let them set up. I put mine in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, but you can let them sit at room temperature for an hour.
Then cut the rice krispies into rectangular shapes for the rectangular ones.
In a 9×13 pan, you can make 10 rectangles.
Press a popsicle stick (wooden ice cream sticks, or even a strong cake pops stick would work) into each cut-out piece…

Then dip it into your choice of melted chocolate. We went with white chocolate.
I melt mine in the microwave. I usually set the microwave for 30 seconds at 50% power. Check it, stir and put it in again if it needs more time.
Once melted perfectly dip your treats.
Then immediately add your sprinkles as the chocolate is still wet. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet as your move onto the next one. To create the heart on the rice krispie treat square, I used a spoon and scooped some of the melted chocolate onto it, and then used the back of the spoon to spread the chocolate around to create the shape.

For the cute heart shapes, I used a heart cookie cutter. Such a fun way to create a treat for Valentine’s Day.

Super cute, easy, and delicious treats for the Valentine’s in your life.
