The Ultimate All American Sundae
Well folks we are 2 weeks away from the 4th of July and 1 day away from the official start of summer and what better way to enjoy summer than with ice cream!
The Ultimate All American Sundae combines all those patriotic dessert ideas.
Apple pie, waffle cones, creamy vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce all layered up make for one nostalgic dessert.
You can make this dessert as easy or as time consuming as you’d like. I went the easy route. I purchased a frozen apple pie and baked it up. Of course if you feel inspired you can whip up a homemade one. Just like the ice cream… homemade would be divine, but I went with store bought. And caramel sauce… yep, you guessed it.
I start with a big scoop of apple pie. I love the crumble topping apple pie. Put that big scoop in the bottom of your dish.
Follow by a layer of waffle cone crumbles.
Then add a scoop of vanilla ice cream topped off with some caramel sauce.
Repeat those beautiful layers till your dish is full. Mine took two glorious layers.
All the layers are perfection together… creamy… crunchy… fruity… delicious!
This sundae can be prepped ahead of time for a party too. I found this when I stuck it in the freezer when I wasn’t thrilled with the lighting for the photos.
It sat for 2 hours in the freezer before I pulled it out for another photo session. After she posed perfectly I didn’t want it to go to waste. It was ready to eat!
I hope you get a chance to enjoy this treat over summer!.
