114th Power of Paint Party… Apple Green

Welcome Paint Lovers…

I’m desperately trying to finish up the final projects to complete the family room.  So last week when we were having some lovely warm weather I broke out the spray paint.

I bought this chair at a garage sale for $1 about 4 years ago when we moved out here.  It has lived in almost every room of our home at some time.

A couple weekends ago we made some major changes to our Ikea Bookshelves Entertainment Center (that I hope to share next week), so I figured this chair deserved a paint job and pop of color in our family room would be great.

Apple Green is such a happy color!

So what have you been painting?

112th Power of Paint Party… A little more blue

Welcome Paint Lovers!

Over the last couple weeks every time I’ve been in our board & batten restroom downstairs I’ve been pondering… “should I add more blue?”

If you follow me on twitter or facebook you know that yesterday I took the plunge and went for it!

I LOVE how the white really POPS now!

Here’s what it looked like before with just the blue painted up top.

[bathroom-33.jpg]

And now…

Now… I’m sure you guys are all brilliant and would know that if this is the end result you’re wanting… don’t do it the way I did.  (Of course this wasn’t my original plan… as usual!)

Painting the whole wall blue and then adding the white slats would have been WAY easier… but easier is WAY over-rated, right!

It feels like Tiffany blue meets beachy blue!   LOVE IT!

Ok… if somehow you missed the exciting news last week.  I started a new blog as a spin-off of this awesome party. Power of Paint is a blog dedicated to paint lovers and a place to feature awesome paint projects, techniques and tips.  After you link up your paint project here, click HERE to head on over and submit your best paint projects there.

So what have you been painting?

Kitchen Nook

Happy Friday Folks!  I’m so happy that we’re at the edge of the weekend.  It’s been one of those weeks… anyone else have one of those too?   I’m just thankful we have a weekend with no sporting events, birthday parties, etc.

I realized I never showed you guys my new-to-me (once again) kitchen table and chairs all together.  So I wanted to share them with you guys today…

If you missed the how-to’s here are the links…

chalk painted chairs (with recipe)

removing white paint top

dark dreamy stain

Next goal… finishing window treatments.  I had some dark espresso brown panels hanging there, but I’ve got some leftover drop cloth from covering the chairs that I want to use.  Not sure what I’m going to do with them yet though. Smile

Thanks for stopping by & have a fabulous weekend!

110th Power of Paint Party… Science Boards

Welcome Paint Lovers!!!

Last weekend was all about science fair projects in our house.  Anyone else been knee-high in science boards, experiments, notebooks and construction paper?  In our school district here in So. Cal. it’s a requirement for 4th & 5th graders… and guess what, I’ve got a 4th & 5th grader.

So as we prepped to assembly it all the Hubster suggested we paint the background of their science boards this year instead of putting down wrapping paper (like we did last year)or construction paper.

So that’s what we did… and guess what… I didn’t even paint them… even better!

Hopefully I’ll get to some more exciting painting this week.

So what have you been painting???
